Today we’re excited to share that Lorraine Buhannic, a friend of the firm and accomplished talent executive and people leader, has joined Juxtapose as Head of Talent. Lorraine has long been part of the Juxtapose family as Chief People Officer at our portfolio company Orchard, and we are thrilled she has decided to continue her leadership journey with us!
One of our core values and most-repeated mantras at Juxtapose is “talent is everything.” We believe the key to building transformational companies is hiring needle-in-the-haystack talent - with a unique mix of experience, vision, and ambition – for the CEOs and founding teams at our companies, and for within Juxtapose. It takes a special kind of leader to identify those people and usher them into a company’s earliest chapters.
When we first met Lorraine in 2018, we were impressed by her people-centric view on company building and her experience as an executive coach and talent leader. She joined Orchard a year later as the company’s first Chief People Officer, where she built the People function from the ground up, enabling Orchard to scale from ~80 to 1,000 employees with a superlative performance-oriented company culture. Before Orchard, Lorraine led Squarespace’s Learning & Development and Recruitment teams, hiring and developing hundreds of employees across the organization. She also helped to stand up Squarespace’s first D&I strategy. Prior to Squarespace, Lorraine spent nearly a decade at leading technology and financial services firms, including six years at AppNexus where she scaled the Talent team and helped the company grow from ~150 in New York to ~1,200 globally while honing her skills in executive search, recruiting, and people management.
At Juxtapose, Lorraine will join our growing talent team and lead the growth of people and talent capabilities for our firm and our portfolio companies. In her role, she’ll focus on driving excellence in CEO & executive team hiring and creating more connectivity throughout the portfolio. She’ll also support the portfolio, advising and coaching across a broad set of strategic talent needs such as organizational design, leadership development, compensation programs, and more. Talent touches every part of the Juxtapose universe, and we look forward to working with Lorraine to continue building Juxtapose’s track record as a hub for the best executive talent.
